Abstract :
The paper presents a digital implementation of tape equalizers for analog audio tape playback. A digital IIR filter is applied to match the frequency response specified by NAB (National Association of Broadcasting). In this way, more accurate frequency response, higher signal to noise ratio and wider dynamic range can be easily achieved. Further signal processing in the digital domain is possible, and direct digital data transfer between equipment is easily achieved. The digital equalizer is constructed with a DSP board, and the test results are presented
