Abstract :
Five models of the static synchronous series compensator (SSSC) suitable for three-phase power flow analysis are presented. The SSSC models have been implemented in a three-phase Newton power-flow algorithm in rectangular coordinates. Numerical results based on a 5-busbar system and the IEEE 118-busbar system are given to show the computational performance of the three-phase Newton power-flow algorithm with incorporation of the SSSC models.
