Abstract :
The characteristic impedance of curved microstrip lines is determined by using the spectral domain method and the method of lines for the calculation of the capacitance of a circular ring deposited on thin alumina or GaAs substrates for MHMICs and MMICs. The choice of the basis functions used in the spectral domain method is discussed in detail. Calculated results are checked by solving the same problem using the method of lines. Good agreement is found between the two results.
