Abstract :
Describes and compares some lubricant-testing methods and indicates factors which may influence the result of lubrication. Particular attention is given to the wear test, the measurement of the friction coefficient, the determination of insulation resistance, the corrosion test, and the dust test. Experimental results show that it is difficult to meet all the requirements. The lubricants tested are listed in order of suitability for different application purposes
