Abstract :
The potential of sucrose crystal, which is transparent down to 190 nm, for nonlinear UV generation is investigated. Sellmeier´s equations for the refractive indices of sucrose are presented. From these, the phase-matching curves for second-harmonic generation are derived and the results are in excellent agreement with the experiment.
