Abstract :
Antennas with an aperture phase distribution described by functions representing stepped or continuous linear surfaces are considered. It is shown that by the use of a similar phase distribution, an antenna with a prescribed radiation pattern in one plane is easy to synthesize. Linear-phase distributions are given which permit patterns, with similar characteristics, to form in the two principal planes, simultaneously
