Abstract :
Photoinduced second harmonic generation (SHG) in silica-based channel waveguides fabricated on Si substrates is described. The SHG efficiency was estimated quantitatively in GeO2-doped silica waveguides under various seeding conditions. Moreover, SHG was observed in TiO2-doped silica optical waveguides for the first time.
