Abstract :
We report on an experiment of active coherent beam combining (CBC) of two single-frequency nanosecond fiber amplifiers with repetition rate of several kilohertz using stochastic parallel gradient descent algorithm. Pulsed lasers with pulse width of ~500 ns and repetition rate of 5 kHz are phase locked with a combining efficiency of 89% by employing the signal leakage between the pulses for phase locking. This method can be used to CBC of pulsed-pumped laser with lower repetition rate.
