Abstract :
A model is given for the spectrum of the noise produced by passing a signal through a uniform quantizer. The model requires knowledge only of the amplitude distribution of the derivative of this signal. The model is compared with experimental results for a sinusoidal input signal and the sum of two sinusoids. Conditions are given under which the quantization noise spectrum is white.
