Abstract :
Reviews literature showing the effects of fragmented training development and presents systems theory and training systems concepts and definitions. The author also discusses system-oriented research issues in the areas of training needs and goals analysis, training device design and use, and training system evaluation. It is shown that a systems perspective will facilitate communication between the diverse individuals engaged in training system development, as well as other individuals that influence the development and implementation of training systems, and will help sensitize them to the needs and goals of the various groups that interact with their own needs, goals, and decisions
