Abstract :
The subject of energy efficient lighting and lighting practices for the pulp and paper industry offers an opportunity to discuss energy efficient lighting technologies, commencing with new current lighting products, the advantages and disadvantages of these new lighting products, coping with the disadvantages, their performance and design, and ways to apply these new products in an effective retrofit or in new construction applications. Current recommended lighting practices for indoor and outdoor techniques and economies with recommended illuminance values as applied to new projects or in the modernization of existing pulp and paper facilities are reviewed
