Abstract :
Many authors have used the two-dimensional (2-D) bilinear transformation to obtain 2-D digital filters from stable 2-D analog filters. In this paper, a technique is proposed for performing the bilinear transformation on 2-D state-space systems. This technique is also applicable to multidimensional MIMO systems. Programming this algorithm is straightforward if there is access to computer subroutines that add, multiply, and invert matrices.
