Abstract :
Presents a procedure of measuring the modulation current flowing through a single-mode laser on the basis of the amplitude modulation which is always present. This procedure measures only the current flowing through the active laser medium and contributing to the generation of radiation. The procedure can also be used when the laser to be measured has already been installed in a housing, and/or if the laser is preceded by a network equalising the FM response characteristic
