Abstract :
In this correspondence stability of the 2-D causal digital filter is proven directly in terms of its inverse Z-transform. As a by-product one gets exponential bounds on the rate of convergence to zero of the filters impulse response. Using known transformations, these results may be extended to general 2-D recursive digital filters.
