Abstract :
Electronic tuning of a 1.3-μm InGaAsP semiconductor laser over a wavelength range of 0.083 μm (83 nm) using an acoustooptic filter in an external cavity configuration is discussed. Both single- and multiple-wavelength operation were achieved. Chirping modes of the cavity were eliminated by placing a second acoustooptic filter inside the cavity. Linearity of the chirping modes was verified experimentally
