Abstract :
The authors describe an actively (FM) modelocked Pr3+-doped fluoride fibre laser operating at 1.3 μm. Pulse durations of ~30 ps have been generated at a repetition rate of 419 MHz with an average output power of 1 mW. The observed pulse characteristics are consistent with measurements of the fibre nonlinearity and dispersion
