Abstract
A dual-phase powered Josephson logic network utilizing two special latch circuits is analyzed. These circuits are used to avoid racing in the logic network. One latch is composed of an resistor coupled logic (RCL) and the other latch is composed of an RCL with a direct coupled logic (DCL). This DCL operates as a current polarity switch. Racing is avoided when the logic network is simultaneously powered by any combination of positive and negative polarities. The latches are experimentally fabricated using standard Pb-alloy technology with a 5-µm line width. Latch operation is then tested and analyzed. These latches offer the advantages of higher speed operation and higher density integration.
