Abstract :
This paper analytically derives the optimal feedback gain parameter, ∞0, for the least mean squares (LMS) algorithm used in a video compression application and subject to a visual fidelity criteria. Experimental results are presented which show these analytically derived values of ∞0to be in excellent agreement with experimentally derived ∞0over a wide range of filter and data parameters.
