Abstract :
This paper gives an overview of the Office of Telecommunications, U. S. Department of Commerce, spectrum management support program. The program includes day-to-day operations concerned with providing frequency assignments to qualified U. S. federal government users, as well as planning and analysis support to help ensure efficient use of the radio spectrum from a long-term viewpoint. The program elements include: processing of frequency assignments, spectrum analysis, computer programming and operations, spectrum engineering development (including field measurements), and spectrum management career development.
