Effective Use of the Geostationary Orbit Through Coordination

This paper describes the way in which procedures have been developed and applied under the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to affect the utilization of radio spectrum by satellites positioned in the geostationary orbit. The present procedure is described, together with its deficiencies and the steps that are being considered to improve it.
