            Abstract : 
A new retransmission strategy, called segment selective repeat, is proposed for turbo codes based hybrid ARQ (TC-HARQ). With a small size of request information, the clustering feature of residual errors after turbo decoding is exploited so that only the most severely corrupted segments are retransmitted. Simulation shows a significant improvement in throughput efficiency compared with the type-I TC-HARQ.
