Abstract :
A recent paper [1] proposes using the Davies tree configuration as a processing structure for adaptive arrays. The advantage of doing this is that fewer computations are needed for adaptation. The purpose of this correspondence is to point out that the performance of the Davies tree is suboptimal. It does not, in general, produce maximum output SINR (signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio) from the array.
