Abstract :
The authors describe the computer control system of a large hydroelectric power plant and the reliability improvements made to the automatic generation control (AGC) and automatic voltage control (AVC) programs. Hardware and software modifications were required to improve the interface between the power plant and the regional load dispatch office. These modifications and their impact on the AGC and AVC reliability are discussed
