Abstract :
Presented are the major types of batteries being developed for load-leveling and a generic description of the balance of plant (BOP). The generic BOP description is used to define the components needed to integrate a load-leveling battery facility with an electric system. The BOP considerations for integrating a load-leveling battery with an electric system are described.
