Abstract
This paper discusses the development philosophy and specific capabilities of an ``intelligent´´ 3D modeling software system for power plants. The synergetic combination of interactive 3D computer modeling, graphics, and database management provides an efficient and flexible tool for plant design, verification, and operation. The advantages of an ``intelligent´´ physical model and system drawings are outlined in detail, and examples of a wide range of applications are given.
