  • Abstract
    Drawbacks and limitations in applying the χ2independence hypothesis test parameter over the elements of cooccurrence matrices are discussed. The proper kind of measures to be applied, essentially of degree of concentration on the main diagonal, is justified. Some simple parameters that can be used in this direction are introduced, and their performances illustrated using simulations. The possibility of designing "ad hoc" tests is also suggested.
