Abstract :
The forward and reverse links of a DS-CDMA cellular system are traditionally allocated identical processing gains or bandwidths. The authors propose unequal processing gains for both channels so that the system capacity is maximised. Numerical results indicate a capacity gain of 58% for a simple two-cell model
