Abstract :
A 128-channel arrayed-waveguide grating multiplexer with 0.2 nm (25 GHz) channel spacing at 1.55 μm has been fabricated using a planar lightwave circuit (PLC). The authors obtained a crosstalk of less than -16 dB to neighbouring and all other channels. The on-chip insertion loss ranged from 3.5 to 5.9 dB for central and peripheral output ports, respectively
