Abstract :
A Y-junction multiquantum well waveguide device using carrier-induced nonlinearities has been tested for all-optical switching. Ultrafast switching is achieved using two consecutive control pulses to turn the device on and off. A switch contrast ratio of 1:2 has been achieved within a switching window of 10 ps
