  • Abstract
The electromagnetic propagation in anisotropic magnetized plasma slab is studied using the finite-difference time-domain method based on the Runge-Kutta exponential time differencing formulation (RKETD-FDTD). The high efficiency and accuracy of the method are confirmed by computing the reflection and transmission coefficients for the right-hand circularly polarized wave and left-hand circularly polarized wave through a magnetized plasma layer, with the direction of propagation parallel to the direction of the biasing field. The comparison of the numerical results of the RKETD, current density recursive convolution (CDRC), piecewise linear current density recursive convolution (PLCDRC), and exponential time differencing (ETD) with analytical values indicate that the RKETD method is the greatest accuracy and efficiency method among the above.
