Abstract :
The spectral filtering properties of coupled semiconductor waveguides of differential dispersion is investigated in the case where one waveguide exhibits optical gain and the other is passive. Filter bandwidths are derived and the noise suppression in laser amplifier structures based on such coupled waveguides is calculated.
