Abstract :
This paper presents a coding scheme to be used with a technology-alerting index as well as more conventional subject and author indexes. A three-symbol code permits identification of 1) a broad technical area within EMC, 2) a more specific technical item within that area, and 3) an overall thrust (e. g., theory, measurements, regulations, etc.) not peculiar to EMC. In application, one three-symbol code set will provide a primary classification, and as many additional sets as necessary will provide a group of secondary classifications.
