Abstract :
Different kinds of digital signals can be used on optical submarine systems. In this paper, different solutions are given and discussed with respect to: codes and spectrum on line, scrambling patterns, frames, and sensibility against error bursts. It is shown that all these parameters have to be considered for the transmission quality.
