Abstract :
With more than 25 years´ experience in the electricity generation business, the National Grid ececutive director Nick Winser is now at the forefront of the drive to deliver a 21st century power grid with all the challenges that entails. The two principle challenges ahead of us are: moving to a low-carbon economy particularly impacting on the electricity side and securing our gas supply. The second big issue is how to connect up all those new sources of gas; gas from Norway, more gas coming from mainland Europe, gas from new LNG terminals, one of which we are building ourselves.
