Abstract :
The concepts of an equivalent electrical circuit and maximum power transfer are difficult for some students to comprehend. A laboratory exercise is presented that facilitates the teaching of Thevenin´s equivalent circuit and maximum power transfer through the use of a black box equipped with two external terminals. The laboratory exercise has improved students´ understanding of these important electrical engineering concepts.
