Abstract
A novel design is presented for all optimal hysteretic SQUID readout circuit for a DC SQUID, thus eliminating the need for bulky output transformers or resonance matching circuits. The hysteretic readout system, which is based in part on standard sampling theory, is compared to another similar system and shown to be superior in terms of slew rate and immunity to electromagnetic interference. The circuit should be useful in optimizing the performance of biomagnetic systems
