This paper describes the performance of a 446-Mbit/s integrated optical repeater which consists of four monolithic-integrated circuits (MIC\´s) using silicon bipolar-process technology. Repeater sensitivity for a bit error rate of 10
-11is -37.5 dBm, and dynamic jitter is less than 0.3 degrees. Decision-level deviation of less than 1 percent caused by an ambient temperature change, and that of less than 4 percent due to a mark-ratio change is achieved by using a monolithic-integrated control system developed for a dc-coupled optical receiver. The degradation of the output optical power is less than 0.5 dB over a temperature range of

C. A power penalty of about 2 dB is observed for a 30°C ambient temperature increase.
