Abstract :
A CW signal at frequency f1 can be translated to frequency f2 by adding equal phase steps of size B cycles at a uniform rate fm. The frequency shift f2 ¿ f1 is Bfm. Spectrum components are produced at frequencies fn = f2 + nfm (n any integer>. Their normalized amplitudes are an = (sin ¿B)/¿ (B + n). This is a simpler result than one previously published, and less restricted with respect to values of B.
