Abstract :
A 2.5 Gbit/s coherent optical communication system is presented which uses CPFSK modulation with a central IF of only 3.75 GHz. This low IF facilitates the design of IF electronics. In experimental verification a measured sensitivity ηP=40.9 dBm is obtained
