Abstract :
We have simplified the label swapping processing in optical labeled packet switching networks by using orthogonal frequency-division-multiplexing (OFDM) label technique. By using OFDM label, the label swapping can be realized without old label erasure. We have applied this technique in a labeled packet networking with 112-Gb/s polarization multiplexing return-to-zero quadrature phase-shift keying payload and coherent detection. Multiple label swapping processing has been demonstrated with small optical signal-to-noise ratio penalty.
