Abstract :
Pressured by regulation to remove ozone-depleting chemicals from their products and to simultaneously reduce energy use, manufacturers of the appliance are exploring a range of evolutionary and revolutionary refrigeration technologies. The author discusses the steps being taken by refrigerator manufacturers to comply with the new regulations.<>
