Abstract :
The development of an aircraft requires careful exploration of the dynamical behavior of the structure subject to aeroservoelastic forces. A combination of ground vibration tests and in-flight tests is used for this purpose. For both types of tests, various sensor data are recorded, typically from accelerometers. Based on these data, the aircraft dynamics are identified through modal analysis or structural identification. System identification and parameter estimation from flight data sets are considered and industrial application for modern flight vehicle design and certification is discussed.
