Abstract :
Periodic structures have proven to be useful from an electromagnetics standpoint due to their favorable characteristics-as, for example, frequency selective screens. In this communication, fundamental properties of the specular scattered fields are developed, which apply to infinite periodic targets, whether thick or infinitely thin, possessing rotational and/or reflection symmetry
