Abstract :
This paper describes the method of design of an electromagnetic bandgap antenna. This antenna is able to radiate in vertical, horizontal, and dual polarization with an omnidirectional pattern in azimuth. Through the given abacuses, it is possible to conceive the structure to obtain specific performances in each polarization. To illustrate this purpose, a dual polarization antenna, operating in the lower HiperLAN frequency band, i.e., 5.15-5.35 GHz, is presented.
