Abstract :
The ignition behavior of abnormal dc glow discharges in argon between plane electrodes is analyzed by means of numerical modeling using a two-moment fluid Poisson equation description. The main features of the model are given and the characteristics of the spatio-temporal evolution of the discharge until approaching steady state are discussed.
