Abstract :
A suitable perturbative approach is used to compute equilibrium solutions to the ideal magnetohydrodynamics equation set for tokamak plasmas with a significant fraction of negative current flowing in the core. The visualization of the solution helps one to understand how the current-density distribution links to the flux-surface pattern, particularly with the axisymmetric island system that unfolds in such current-reversal configurations.
