Abstract :
The results of modelling a thick, truncated circular patch with probe feed and radome cover, are presented. The method of analysis uses the mixed potential integral equation in conjunction with triangular current domains. Input impedance, being the most sensitive electrical parameter, is compared to measured results, and a significant loss of accuracy near resonance demonstrated. A simple technique of compensation is then introduced which is equivalent to adding a line charge basis along the patch boundary.
