Abstract :
The input impedance of a microstrip patch antenna with an electrically thick substrate is calculated via a mixed potential integral equation (MPIE) and the method of moments (MoM). Basis functions are used on the coaxial probe. A special attachment mode is employed at the coaxial probe-antenna junction. Since no thin substrate approximations are used, there are no theoretical limits on the substrate thickness. Measured and calculated results are compared.
