            Abstract : 
A simple dual band monopole antenna for 2.45/5.2/5.8 GHz LAN operations built on a single layer FR4 substrate is investigated. It is configured as an asymmetrical meandered T-shaped monopole with a long and a short arm. Depending on relative length of the two arms, the short arm can be used to tune the resonant frequency and/or the bandwidth. Bandwidth enhancement is also achieved by tuning the ground plane size.
