Abstract
In this work, a method is presented for the easy optimization of a uniform array that can yield a pattern with improved side lobe levels. This method allows for the determination of the appropriate array elements for which a 180° phase shift will produce the desired improved pattern. The mathematical functionality of the array and its elements is realized using circuit elements as amplifiers and phase shifters. This approach allows the incorporation of powerful circuit simulators. Several cases are analyzed and presented to demonstrate the efficiency and limitations of the method.
